Meetings

South Wales Reptile and Exotic Animal group meets on the first Friday of each month, at Waunceirch Hall, Wernfrach Road, Caewen, Neath. Meetings start at 7.30pm, and they are friendly, informal occasions.

For an up-to-date Calendar of this year’s Programme visit our Forum, and check out the latest News From Our Secretary.

We hear a guest speaker, chat and exchange ideas, drink coffee, borrow books from our Reptile Library and generally learn more about our hobby.

Visitors are welcome at our meetings. Young reptile enthusiasts and their parents, and novice keepers are especially welcome. Our members have a wide range of interests and experience. Some of us have had a lifetime’s involvement with herps; others are very new to the hobby.

The picture above shows one of our meetings, just before our speaker, Paul Coleman of the British Chelonia Group, spoke on the wildlife of Costa Rica, with photographs of the rainforest flora and fauna from his recent expedition.

We also arrange informal get-togethers including a summer Barbecue held in our Chairman's garden, and a "Bring-a-Reptile" evening (picture on left).

We have occasionally organised group visits to national Herp events, too.

You are welcome to join us at any of our meetings. To find out more, or to obtain directions to our venue, email us at any time.
