Saturday 25th April 2009 - SWREAG visit to Morrison's.

What? No, it wasn't just to get the shopping. This was a bit of a departure from our normal activities but we decided that maybe not enough people knew about us and that maybe this could be rectified.

Several of our most hardy members braved the bracing draught of the foyer of Morrison's in Neath from 11.00 am until about 4.30 pm where we had set up a stall where members of the public (hundreds of them) were able to stop for a chat and to meet a varied selection of tame wild animals.

Shoppers were delighted to get up close and personal with all manner of snakes and lizards, snails and tarantulas, parrots, skunks, tortoises and much more.

And we were pleased to have the opportunity to make our presence known in Neath where were have been for many years believing that all the reptile and exotic animal keepers in the area were aware of our existence. Just shows doesn't it?

If you missed us on Saturday don't despair. Next Friday (May 1st) we are holding an open meeting when our member Seb Miller (pictured left with skunk) will be presenting 'Jungle Talk', where you will have another chance to learn about wild animals and get to meet some more of his large collection of furry friends (and some scaly ones). This will be held in our usual meeting place in Neath, 7.30 for 8.00.

Places are limited (just by the size of the hall) so if you would like to come please email enquiries@southwalesreptiles.org.uk .
